Why 60-minute lessons?
Answer: 60 minutes is our natural attention span.
Most schools push for double lessons, but here’s why I don’t:
- Attention peaks twice — first goes up at around 35 minutes, then drops slightly and rises again until about 60 minutes.
(proven by tobii eye-tracker data) → this means we use both concentration peaks effectively. - You learn in 60 minutes here what most other schools teach in 90.
With my start point in Enge, we can cover all topics (except mountain roads) within a 60-minute lesson.
And yes — we drive mostly on exam routes, so you feel comfortable and confident on the big day. - Exam focus
The practical exam lasts 45 minutes.
If your lessons are always 60 minutes, your focus naturally stays strong for the full test — without fatigue.
How many driving lessons will I need to pass the exam?
Novice
Google says between 25 and 30 lessons. The typical student needs 10 to 20 lessons to cover all topics and drive some exam routes around Zürich.
If you take lessons regularly, it usually takes about two months from your first drive to being ready for the practical test.
Kontrollfahrt (license exchange)
If you already have driving experience from another country, it depends on how similar the driving culture is to Switzerland.
Around 10 lessons is usually enough to prepare you for the kontrollfahrt.
If you haven’t owned or driven a car daily before, you may need a few extra lessons to build good habits and routine.
Anxious drivers
I’ve coached many students who had passed driving tests in other countries but never felt truly comfortable behind the wheel.
